The panel comprises Matt Blok, Blok Pools & Hot Tubs (Ontario eastern chapter); Chris Corney, Aqua-Don Pool Service & Supplies (Ontario Niagara chapter); Brad Cross, Waterworks Pools & Spas (Atlantic chapter); Steve Gaboury, Anchem Sales (Ontario western chapter); Jason Lawrence, Oasis Leisure Centre (Prairie chapter); Dominika Marcisz, CGT (Ontario central chapter); Tara McBurney, McBurney Pools Ltd. Each year, the PHTCC invites its members to enter photographs and descriptions of their most impressive swimming pool, spa/hot tub, and water feature installations in its annual Design & Construction Awards competition. The council typically receives more than 200 entries from across Canada in approximately 40 different categories. All entries will be displayed on the show floor for the duration of the conference and expo.

This year, the traditional awards banquet has been separated into two distinct functions on the evening of Dec. 2. The ‘Awards Ceremony’ will be held in the Fallsview theatre at the Scotiabank Convention Centre, while the ‘Industry Party’ will take place at the Dragonfly Nightclub.

Those residential and commercial pool and spa/hot tub builders who want to enter the Design & Construction Awards competition, and/or nominate an individual for the ‘Industry Achievement Award,’ which are sponsored by Pool & Spa Marketing and Pools, Spas & Patios magazines, must do so before 4 p.m. (EDT) on Sept. 30.
