In support of the National Swimming Pool Foundation®’s (NSPF®’s) Step Into Swim™ Campaign, the Master Pools Guild has donated $40,000 to help fund programs that teach the life-saving skill of swimming.

The National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®) has received a $40,000 donation from The Master Pools Guild for its Step Into Swim™ Campaign, which helps fund programs that teach the life-saving skill of swimming.

Both groups firmly believe that creating more swimmers will help more people live healthier and happier lives, reduce the risk of drowning, and build demand for pools, hot tubs, and the aquatics field. The Step Into Swim Campaign started in 2012 and has a goal to create one million more swimmers over a 10-year period.

“The Step into Swim Campaign focuses on the safe enjoyment of water activities and sharing information on the benefits of a healthy aquatic lifestyle. Supporting this initiative is a natural fit for the Master Pools Guild,” says Carla Sovernigo, chairman of the board of directors of the Master Pools Guild and president/chief financial officer of Alka Pool Construction Ltd., in Burnaby, B.C. “It’s about promoting health, safety and fun… all benefits your family can experience in and around your swimming pool. Our industry has much to offer and we are excited to partner with NSPF’s Step Into Swim Campaign to share this message.”

The Master Pools Guild and NSPF share a history and vision to raise professionalism and promote the aquatics industry, adds Pool & Spa Marketing editorial advisory board member and NSPF CEO, Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D.

“We achieve three goals by teaching more children to swim: people will live healthier and happier lives, the risk of drowning will be reduced, and demand for pools and hot tubs will grow. This partnership will help accomplish these aspirations that the entire industry should hold.”
