The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) Design & Construction Awards committee has announced this year’s volunteer judges, which comprises a number of industry professionals from across the country.
The panel will be co-chaired by Rodney Taylor of Sunshine Pool & Mechanical Contractors (1994) Ltd., and Catherine Duclos (ex-officio), the Council’s interim executive director. Judges will select the winning entries based on creative and inspiring pool, hot tub, and landscape designs. This year’s panel comprises Brad Cross, Waterworks Pools & Spas (Atlantic chapter); Cathe Carter, Calais Spas Ltd. (B.C. island chapter); Matt Kaell, Pool Mates Pool & Hot Tub Inc. (Toronto chapter); Nicole Gray, Northeastern Swimming Pool Distributors Inc., (Toronto chapter); Jayme Sweeney, Zodiac Pool Systems Canada Inc. (Eastern chapter); Chris Knight O’Donnell, Northeastern Swimming Pool Distributors Inc., (Toronto chapter) Zoltan Dobsinai, Pioneer Family Pools (Western chapter).
Each year, the PHTCC invites its members to enter photos and descriptions of their most impressive pool, spa/hot tub, and water feature installations in its annual Design & Construction Awards competition. The association typically receives more than 200 entries from across Canada in approximately 40 different categories. Rounding out the awards program is the PHTCC’s ‘Industry Achievement Award,’ which recognizes exceptional acts of benevolence and leadership in the pool and spa industry.
The Design & Construction Awards competition and Industry Achievement Award are sponsored by Pool & Spa Marketing and Pools, Spas & Patios. All winners will be recognized during the Industry Banquet on Dec. 4, during the Canadian Pool and Spa Conference & Expo, at the Hilton Hotel and Suites in Niagara Falls, Ont. All Design & Construction Awards entries will be displayed throughout the conference centre for the duration of the show.
