A Prince Edward Island resident is selling a 274-m (900-ft) water park slide for a lofty price on Facebook Marketplace.
Per a report by National Post, the Canadian entrepreneur listed an Alpine Slides-brand waterslide on Facebook Marketplace for $150,000.
The seller is looking forward to placing the remaining pieces in their backyard and plans to use some of them to create an all-new water park in their hometown.
The slide originally resided in Barefoot Landing, the water park section of Magic Valley Fun Park, a former amusement park located in New Glasgow, N.S.
When it was installed in 1983, the attraction featured three slides and quickly became one of the park’s most popular highlights.
After the park shut down in 2016, the owners began piecemealing parts of it, eventually listing the slide for $30,000 in a Kijiji ad in 2020.
According to the report, the seller has received several purchase inquiries since listing it on the online platform, including one from Texas. However, the complicated and costly shipping process has deterred many potential buyers.
