The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals’ (APSP’s) board of directors has started its search for a successor to current president and chief executive officer (CEO) William Weber in preparation for his departure late next year.
To facilitate the search effort, the board has formed a CEO Search Committee (CSC) chaired by Bruce Fisher of Hayward Pool Products, and past chair of the APSP manufacturers council. Other committee members include Mark Laven (Latham International), Mike Dunn (Watkins Manufacturing), Greg Howard (Carecraft), Michael Miller (Miller Pools), Mike Grovanone (Concord Pools & Spas), Martin Silver (Bel-Aqua Pool Supply), Joe Amato (Amato Industries), Steve Gorlin (Gorlin Pools & Spas), Larry Caniglia (Northeastern Swimming Pool & Spa Association [NESPA]), and Lauren Stack (APSP).
“The board of directors and the CSC are committed to taking steps guarantee the search for the next APSP CEO is thorough and transparent,” said Gorlin, incoming APSP chairman of the board. “We are confident the CSC will recommend qualified candidates for consideration.”
The search committee will start by identifying a search firm partner along with developing a job description, timeline, and process.
Weber, who was appointed in 2005, also serves as ex officio member of the APSP board executive committee.
