PHTCC member companies qualify for free insurance

As a result of their investments in training and education in 2012, 19 Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) member companies earned the necessary credits to receive supplementary legal insurance under the PHTCC’s educational credit program.

A number of Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) member companies have qualified for supplementary legal insurance during the first year of the association’s new educational credit program.By participating in the program, which was introduced last August, qualifying builder, dealer and service companies who regularly upgrade their skills have the opportunity to secure supplementary insurance coverage that is not typically included in standard general liability portfolios. Class 5 and 12 PHTCC members that earn 200 educational credits in a given year are eligible to receive this supplemental coverage that has been made available through the PHTCC’s affinity partner RDA Inc., in co-operation with DAS Canada.

As a result of their investments in training in 2012, 19 companies earned the necessary credits to receive this insurance. They include:

  • Aqua Spa Pools & Landscape Design (Woodbridge, Ont.);
  • Aqua-Don Pool Service & Supplies (St. Cathariens, Ont.);
  • Aquafun Family Pools & Spas Ltd. (Duncan, B.C.);
  • Aqua-Tech Pools Ltd. (Winnipeg, Man.);
  • Ashton Pools, Ponds & Spas Ltd. (Kitchener, Ont.);
  • Betz Pools Ltd. (Stouffville, Ont.);
  • Bremner Pool and Spa (Pickering, Ont.);
  • Forest City Pool & Patio Inc. (London, Ont.);
  • G & G Pool ‘n’ Spa Contracting (Fanny Bay, B.C.);
  • Huronia Pools Ltd. (Midland, Ont.);
  • Island Hot Tubs & Pools Inc. (Summerside, PE);
  • Oasis Leisure Centre (Winnipeg, Man.);
  • Poseidon Pool Service Ltd. (Ottawa, Ont.);
  • R & R Pool Sales & Installation (Timberlea, NS);
  • Spa Bound Pools & Spas (Naniamo, B.C.);
  • Sunshine Pool & Mechanical Contractors (Edmonton, Alta.);
  • TayFam Enterprises/Pool Care Ltd. (Thornhill, Ont.);
  • Total Pool Services (Kelowna, B.C.); and
  • Waterworks Pools & Spas (Moncton, NB).

These companies will receive a certificate acknowledging their commitment to education over the past year.

“It is gratifying to see investments in training and education rewarded in such a tangible way,” said Robert Wood, the PHTCC’s executive director.
