Blue Rodeo to head benefit concert for Stratford splash pad

The Stratford, Ont., splash pad committee hopes to raise $470,000 in its ‘Splash Pad Campaign,’ which will see a new spray park installed at the city’s Anne Hathaway Park.

In support of the Stratford, Ont., ‘Splash Pad Campaign,’ organized by the city’s splash pad committee, Blue Rodeo is playing a benefit concert on March 28 to help raise funds for the project.According to the Cash for Splash website (www.stratfordsplashpad.com), the group hopes to raise $470,000 through its fundraising campaign along with support from the community to have the splash pad in place this summer. City council has already approved Anne Hathaway Park as the location and preliminary designs have also been drawn up.

The benefit concert will be held at the Rotary Recreation Complex as part of the city’s ‘Thirsty Thursday’ annual community benefit event.

“The Stratford splash pad committee is excited for the Blue Rodeo concert/fundraiser,” said Kris LaCourse, the campaign’s media liaison in a southwesternontario.ca report. “We are just beyond thrilled at the support from our local business community in putting forth these incredible fundraisers.”

The Stratford splash pad committee is a community minded group of area parents looking to provide a local family destination for recreation and enjoyment at a safe and accessible splash pad without admission fees.
