BonaVista LeisureScapes recently welcomed customers to an open house at its Toronto-based retail store and showroom to celebrate the start of summer.
Longtime clients, industry representatives, and friends attended the event which offered a pool party 101 course, providing them with a series of workshops focused on poolside enjoyment.
Chef Tony Armstrong from Headwater Farm in Cobourg, Ont., was on hand to give cooking demonstrations, while visitors learned about outdoor kitchens and décor—from grills and warming drawers to refrigeration and bar carts. BonaVista owner, Jennifer Gannon, led a workshop on décor advice, covering topics such as fire features, lighting, shade, privacy, and how to make the most of an outdoor space.
Greg Gannon, Ph.D., an exercise physiologist, demonstrated the benefits of aquatic fitness. Those guests who brought their swimsuits were able to participate in this workshop by testing out a swim spa. Another workshop led by Zodiac Pool Systems’ Nicole Robinson helped those looking for a swim spa, hot tub or swimming pool decide what water feature was best for their family. She demonstrated the latest products and equipment such as heaters, covers, automation systems, and saltwater and chlorine sanitation options as well as informed attendees on how to keep their family safe around the pool.
Finally, a landscape design workshop was also held to provide tips on both hard and softscaping. Robert Boltman and Alex Bartlett from bsq explained the latest trends in outdoor pools and how homeowners are incorporating them into the backyard landscape.
