Pentair Aquatic Systems has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the 2015 Energy Star Partner of the Year award for its contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about using less energy.
“At Pentair, we are committed to innovative technologies to maximize energy efficiencies,” says Pentair’s Karl R. Frykman, president, water quality systems. “As a global leader in the pool and spa industry, we have made it our charge to deliver energy-efficient products to help our customers reduce energy consumption while enjoying their pools.”
This marks the company’s second consecutive Partner of the Year award. In order for pool pumps to earn the Energy Star certification, they must be at least 30 to 72 per cent more energy efficient than typical pumps. Last year, all Pentair variable-speed pump (VSP) models and two-speed models earned this certification. Currently, 57 Pentair pool pump models carry the Energy Star rating.
“Pentair’s Energy Star-certified products are helping pool owners save money and energy, and do their part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change,” says EPA administrator, Gina McCarthy.
Pentair’s accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015.
