Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) members concluded the 2015 fiscal year at its annual general meeting (AGM), which was held prior to the Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Council members who attended the Dec. 1, 2015 meeting approved last year’s financial report as well as the proposed budget for 2016, which was introduced by Robert Wood, the PHTCC’s executive director and the Council’s 2015 treasurer, Mark Fournier.

Wood’s year-end report highlighted the association’s 2015 achievements with respect to finances, the development of new programs, industry/member promotion, and advocacy/lobbying efforts. He also touched on major initiatives underway, specifically the upgrading of the existing short courses and the addition of new offerings under the Industry Trade Certification Program. In addition, the organization is pressing forward with a new strategic plan and set of governance policies, both of which were ratified at the AGM.

Those in attendance also welcomed the incoming 2016 board of directors, which includes Roland Goodfellow, Jason Lawrence, Josh Randall, Dave Simek, Steve Vicente, Gary Barber, Dave Warren, Darren Hill, Markus Brunner, Rodney Taylor, and Mark Fournier. Kara Redden, and Ken Reid were absent.

Plaques were also presented to outgoing board members Peter Brown, Steve Galbraith, Emmett DeAngelis, Randy McMullan, as well as to Mark Fournier (2015 treasurer), and Dave Warren (2015 president).
