One of Canada’s most enduring pools has seen its final swim.

After 49 years of operation, the Yukon’s Takhini Hot Pools served its final customers on Friday, September 25.

The business will be demolished, and replaced with a new $6-million spa facility. President of Takhini Hot Springs Ltd. Gary Umbrich told CBC News [1]the old facility was “literally crumbling.”

He says construction on the new facility should be completed in early-2021. While he acknowledged there was “a lot of nostalgia” for the old pool, he said when completed, the new  project will be a “world-class facility.”
