Global recreational water leaders will gather in Scottsdale, Ariz., next year for the 12th annual World Aquatic Health™ Conference (WAHC™), which is scheduled to take place Oct. 7-9.
In conjunction with the conference, the first bi-annual meeting of the Conference of the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) will take place Oct. 6-7. The CMAHC serves the key role of collecting, assessing, and relaying national input needed on the MAHC. Both events will be held at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.
The WAHC highlights advances that can generate growth for the aquatic field and industry. Seminars on public health code, recreational water illness (RWI) prevention, facility management, advanced chemistry, drowning prevention and fear, health benefits, and new industrial technology are some of the topics covered each year. A scientific poster session, lunch roundtables, and tabletop displays presented by non-profit organizations and conference sponsors will round out the two-day event.
According to WAHC organizers, last year’s conference saw nearly 400 people attend, representing a record number of states (42) and countries (12), including the United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Iceland, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, the Ukraine, and the U.K.
The 2015 conference will again be hosted by the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®) with pre- and post-conference events and leadership meetings will be forthcoming.
Those interested in presenting a poster or whitepaper at the 2015 WAHC are asked to submit an abstract by Jan. 31.
