The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) once again anticipates more than 2,000 pool and spa professionals from Canada and the U.S. to attend the upcoming Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo.
This year marks the 32nd edition of the annual trade show and the second consecutive year it will take place at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont. After the success of last year’s expo and the positive feedback received from both exhibitors and attendees, the PHTCC-organized event is set to take place Nov. 26 to 29, 2012.
Those attending this year’s show can expect a series of topical educational seminars and courses that will address a number of significant issues facing the Canadian aquatic industry—from best operating practices for swimming pool and spa water testing, to swimming pool water discharge, to understanding the benefits of enzymes. A number of technical courses will also be available, including advice on identifying and matching spa support system components, building concrete pools and walls, and project management guidelines. As in previous years, a two-day Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) course will also be part of the program.
New to this year’s show will be a ‘Hot Topics, Hot Breakfast’ program, which comprises a number of roundtable discussions with assigned moderators. This session will take place on the final day of the show and topics will include municipal bylaws and inspection issues, technical issues for builders and service personnel, public pool issues, green pools and spas, safety public awareness programs, and creating more opportunities for profit.
Additional show highlights include the industry awards banquet on Nov. 28, which will recognize the national winners of the ‘2012 Design and Construction Awards,’ as well as ‘Dealer of the Year,’ ‘Supplier of the Year,’ and ‘Industry Achievement Award’ recipients. The evening will also include a musical performance by the Steve Burnside Quartet and a comedic performance by Bowser and Blue.
