In keeping with Xishuangbanna International Resort’s tropical jungle theme, a 2800 L (740 gal) tipping bucket was painted like a basket full of pansies, while the structural posts were topped with lotus flowers, hollyhocks, and sunflowers.

China’s Dalian Wanda Group and Richmond, B.C.’s WhiteWater recently celebrated the grand opening of the former’s first theme park last month, marking a new chapter of waterpark development in East Asia.

The first park, Xishuangbanna International Resort in in Jinghong city, features an assortment of WhiteWater waterslides as well as a themed interactive play structure.

To create a garden of bright flower-like waterslides, the fibreglass was coloured with bright yellows, pinks, and blues, and supported by vibrant green steel to emulate a flower’s stalk.

Throughout the 60 ha (150 acres) waterpark, WhiteWater integrated a tropical jungle theme into each water play element, creating a garden of bright flower-like waterslides.

The resort, reportedly one of China’s largest culture and tourism investments, spans 600 ha (1482 acres) and incorporates seven separate areas in addition to the waterpark, including a golf course, five-star hotel, theatre, commercial centre, hospital, and a new tourism town.

With an annual capacity of 500,000 guests, Xishuangbanna International Resort Theme Park, is said to be the first of several resorts the two companies are developing together.
