Deadline nears for Canadian pool and spa awards
Aloha Pools Ltd., in Burnaby, B.C., received a gold award in the outdoor concrete pool with no water feature (41.8 to 65 m2 [451 to 700 sf]) category in the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) 2013 Design & Construction Awards competition.
The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) 2014 Design & Construction Awards program recognizes the best in aquatic design, and this year the program features some new rules and a new entry deadline.

Those residential and commercial pool and spa/hot tub builders who want to show off their skills in hope of receiving a PHTCC Design & Construction Award have until 4 p.m. (EDT) on Sept. 30 to submit their entries.

This year, in addition to the gold, silver, and bronze awards that will be up for grabs in all 47 categories, an additional award(s) will be presented by the industry for every 15 entries submitted in each category. All entries will be displayed on the show floor for the duration of the conference and expo.

Once again, the PHTCC, through its affiliation with Quebec’s L’Association des commerçants de piscines du Québec (ACPQ), is accepting entries from ACPQ member companies. This marks the sixth consecutive year of this partnership.

All winners will be recognized at the Industry Awards evening on Dec. 3, during the Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo, which returns to the Toronto Congress Centre.

Rounding out the awards program, which is sponsored by Pool & Spa Marketing and Pools, Spas & Patios, is the PHTCC’s ‘Industry Achievement Award.’ Nominations for this distinction are also due on Sept. 30.
