Those interested in presenting an educational seminar at the 2013 Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo in Niagara Falls, Ont., should submit a brief description to the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) today.

Today is the deadline for the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) call for seminar presentations for the 2013 Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo.Each year a number of informative seminars and courses are offered through the show’s educational program to support the technical advancement of the industry. To this end, the PHTCC is looking for various industry experts who are interested in presenting seminars at this year’s show, which is returning to the Scotiabank Convention Centre (SCCN) in Niagara Falls, Ont., Dec. 2-5. Seminar topics should be based on new technologies that have been introduced to the Canadian pool and spa sector.Those interested in participating are asked to submit a brief description to rwood@poolcouncil.ca.[1] All submissions will be evaluated by the PHTCC’s education committee and will be based on perceived suitability and relevance to the program as well as the potential range of application.

In other news, the PHTCC’s Atlantic chapter hosted its annual technical seminar in Halifax earlier this month. A number of industry professionals from eight different companies attended the training session led by Pentair Aquatics’ Phil Bach, who discussed pool/spa filtration, hydraulics and energy efficiency.

Deadline Today For 2
Members from the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s Atlantic chapter recently attended the annual technical seminar presentation in Halifax, led by Phil Bach of Pentair Aquatics.

The PHTCC’s Toronto chapter has announced it will host three basic training days (March 2 and 23, and April 6) for new hires and/or existing staff members. Each training day will include a course for pool operators, basic water chemistry and certification sessions on water discharge/best practices and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

The Toronto chapter has also announced the date of its annual golf tournament, which is being held at the Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket, Ont., has been changed from Aug. 27 to Aug. 20 due to a conflict with another event.
