Crystal Lagoons, a multinational company and developer of manufactured lagoons, has recently entered the Canadian market.
The company’s new branch office will be based in Toronto and led by Francisco Matte, the commercial director for Canada. He will be in charge of growth strategy and commercial management within the country.
The company’s proprietary technology enables the development of lifestyle beaches anywhere in the world—from site lands far away from the coast, in the middle of deserts, and in the heart of major cities.
“In Canada, we have identified great potential for the development of crystal clear lagoons within first and second-home residential projects, as well as public and floating lagoons in different regions of the country,” says Matte.
“Our crystal clear lagoons can be enjoyed during the summer and, once frozen, throughout the winter as well. Further, water contained in our lagoons can also be warmed up for free by being connected to industrial facilities such as power plants or data centres, where Crystal Lagoons’ proprietary technology for sustainable cooling may be applied.”
According to the company, its technology provides for low water consumption rates—30 times less fresh water than a golf course and just half the water required by a park of the same size—and uses up to 100 times less chemicals than a traditional pool, while consuming only two per cent of the energy required by traditional filtration systems.
