The World Aquatic Health Conference™ (WAHC™) is set to take place October 8-10 in Portland, Ore., and those who register before June 1 will save $50.
The two-day event, which will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, will welcome more than 400 global recreational water leaders to provide an educational and networking event with the most influential academic, industry, and government experts to share the common goal of keeping swimming pools open, making them safer, and removing the barriers to healthier living through aquatics. The WAHC, hosted by the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®), is now in its 11th year.
“Helping to make pools fiscally sustainable and improve the safety of those facilities will more likely lead to keeping them open, and keep people coming back for the two things they value most—their health and their families,” said Thomas M. Lachocki, PhD, and NSPF CEO.
The conference is tailored for attendees affiliated with aquatic facilities, service providers, consultants, parks & recreation, waterparks, academia, manufacturers, associations, builders, community organizations, distributors, hotels, government, health/medical, retail, and media.
“There is a broad diversity of attendees and seminars offered, resulting in 57 per cent of our attendees returning each year, no matter where it is located,” said conference manager, Michelle Kavanaugh. “We truly listen to conference attendees as they reflect their experience in the post-event surveys, and we make changes accordingly.”
At this year’s event, attendees will be able to select from more than 80 seminars in seven critical topic areas, including Drowning, Prevention & Fear, Facility Management, Health Benefits, Public Health Code, Advanced Chemistry, New Industry Technology, and Recreational Water Illness (RWI) Prevention. Four keynote presentations, special conference activities, and a scientific poster session will be available as well as pre- and post-conference events.
In addition to more details on all seminars, presenters, tabletops, and special conference events, secure online registration and hotel reservations can be made via the conference website, www.thewahc.org[2].
