The theme of the 2015 World Aquatic Health™ Conference (WAHC) is ‘Shaping the Future through Aquatics.’ Those interested in attending the conference can register early starting in April.

Early registration for the 2015 World Aquatic Health™ Conference (WAHC), which is sponsored by the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®), will open on April 1.

This year’s conference will be held Oct. 7 to 9 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., and those who register prior to June 1 will save on the cost of registration. Complete conference details, including an interactive seminar schedule, presenter bios, special conference events, and online registration can be found on the WAHC’s website (www.thewahc.org).

“More than 50 per cent of our attendees return year after year because they appreciate this unique forum where professionals share the latest scientific advances, innovation, and emerging trends—helping us shape the future of aquatics for a better tomorrow,” says NSPF director of mission development, US/Canada, Michelle Kavanaugh.

“We are at a unique and extraordinary time to keep pools safer and to create demand for aquatics resulting in healthier people and growth in our field,” adds NSPF CEO, Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D.

This year’s Welcome Reception will celebrate NSPF’s 50th Anniversary of keeping pools open and safer. Other special events include a private showing of the Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce documentary, “Touch the Wall”; the International NSPF Instructor Meeting; an Environmental Health Leader Reception; and an Emerging Leaders Reception.

In addition, the first bi‐annual meeting of the Conference of the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) will also be held during the conference. Other pre- and post-conference events include an Insider’s Tour; USA Swimming’s Regional Build a Pool Conference; and a Genesis event, which will be announced at a later date.

Two keynote addresses, planned for more than 400 WAHC attendees, will kick off the event. Rowdy Gaines, renowned Olympic swimmer, now executive director of LIMU’s Rowdy’s Kidz outreach program will open the conference on Oct. 8, while Graham Talley and Ashkahn Jahromi, entrepreneurs with outrageous curiosity will present the morning of Oct. 9.

The educational and networking event also includes 62 seminars across eight tracks: New Industry Technology (nine seminars); Health Benefits (five seminars, plus 16 ‘Ted‐style’ five-to-seven minute talks); Facility Management (nine seminars); Health Codes (five seminars); Recreational Water Illness (RWI) Prevention (four seminars); Advanced Chemistry/Disinfection Byproducts (DBP) Prevention (four seminars); Drowning Prevention (five seminars); and Market Growth (five seminars).
