SIMA Group employees helped send a lucky family (centre) to Walt Disney World with money raised at the company’s annual charity hockey game.

A charity hockey game held during SIMA Group’s annual fall buying convention has once again allowed a family coping with severe medical challenges to ‘live a dream’ and have fun for a week at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Fla.

With the funds collected in 2010, a family of four from St-Hubert (on the south shore of Montreal) received an all-expenses-paid trip to the recreational resort. The family’s two little girls, ages 8 and 11, suffer from a severe arthritic condition.

“We were recently told the trip, which was a first for all of them, did a world of good for both the children and the parents,” says SIMA’s Marco Longley. “Year after year, we are happy to support and contribute generously to this cause, which is close to everyone’s hearts.”

While the game helps foster great business relationships, the primary goal is to contribute to the two charities with which the group is associated—Fondation Aide à la jeunesse and the Ste-Justine Hospital in Montreal.
