Pentair Water Pool and Spa recently announced the launch of www.poolfyi.com and www.poolprofyi.com—two new social media sites designed to reach and build strong relationships with dealers, builders and consumers.
Poolfyi.com is a web community dedicated to pool owners that focuses on sharing pool and spa tips, ideas on energy savings and basic troubleshooting for pools and equipment. It also allows members to communicate directly with Pentair technicians, as well as with each other and other pool professionals.
Poolprofyi.com is for pool professionals and replaces Pentair’s Innovation Lab, a social media website introduced by the company in 2010. The new web community enables builders, dealers, technicians and other pool professionals to network in a more exclusive forum.
“It is our greatest hope that poolprofyi.com members will be able to increase sales and manage their businesses better through forums; podcasts on sales, marketing and business management; articles, interviews and more,” says Carlos Del Amo, Pentair’s vice-president of marketing.
Both sites provide an open forum where members can share videos, photos and ideas that can help them make better decisions. Pool professionals can gain insight on what customers and potential customers value most, while pool owners can learn more about design trends, new products, maximizing pool enjoyment and company contest information.
It appears that Pentair may still be working on the “pro” part of their poolfyi efforts. We hope to see this feature roll out soon as pool companies may benefit from yet another way to reach customers through an online community.
