Gearing up for the Canadian pool and spa show

The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) expects more than 2,000 attendees and up to 150 exhibitors at the 2011 Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo, which is being held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont.

More than 2,000 pool and spa professionals from Canada and the U.S. are expected to attend the upcoming Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo, says the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC).

After being held at the Toronto Congress Centre for the last 10 years, the 31st edition of the annual trade show, which is organized by the PHTCC, will take place at the new Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont., from Dec. 5 to 8.

A number of seminars will address key issues facing the Canadian aquatic industry—from best operating practices for swimming pool water discharge, to locating and treating leaks, to green pool design and construction. Once again, a two-day Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) course and public pool symposium will be part of the program.

Other miscellaneous events include a tour of Niagara’s celebrated vineyards on Dec. 6, and a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake on Dec. 7.

Additional show highlights include the industry awards banquet on Dec. 7, which will acknowledge national winners of the ‘2011 Design and Construction Awards,’ as well as ‘Dealer of the Year,’ ‘Supplier of the Year’ and ‘Industry Achievement Award’ recipients. The evening will also include a musical performance by The Caverners, a Beatles tribute band.
