Pool and hot tub professionals will soon have the opportunity to network with industry peers and colleagues at the Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo, which takes place Dec. 2 to 5, 2013 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont.
The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC), organizers of the show, look to follow up the success of the previous two conferences held in Niagara Falls and expect to attract more than 2,000 attendees.
Those attending the 33rd edition of the annual trade show will have the opportunity to attend a number of educational courses, including a two-day Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certification program, swimming pool installation short courses, and best management practices for water discharge. A variety of technical seminars will also be available, including advice on practical business improvements gained from reducing defections, swimming pool energy audits, pricing for profits, solving the top four pool problems, specialty pool retail in the age of technology, alternative sanitizers, current water testing technologies, cost-cutting techniques to increase profits, and electrical spa pack troubleshooting.
Thanks to the popularity of the ‘Hot Topics, Hot Breakfast’ program, which was introduced at last year’s conference, the sessions are being offered again this year. The program, which takes place on the final day of the show, features a number of round table discussions with assigned moderators. This year’s topics will include creating more opportunities for retail/service store profit, technical issues for builders and service personnel, public pool issues, and how to compete in an Internet world.

Additional show highlights include the industry awards banquet on December 4, which will recognize the national winners of the ‘2013 Design and Construction Awards,’ as well as the ‘Industry Achievement Award.’ The evening will also include a musical performance by the Steve Burnside Band.
