Halosource Inc., the manufacturer of SeaKlear water treatment products, looks to make water maintenance easier for pool and hot tub owners by offering specialty chemicals encapsulated in a water-soluble ‘pod.’The line, called Mighty Pods, includes two products: one for weekly maintenance to prevent common pool water issues (e.g. cloudy water, phosphate control, and scummy buildup); and one for clearing up extremely cloudy water. Both are capable of treating up to 18,900 L (5,000 gal) of water without the need for measuring.
“I know firsthand how difficult it is for the average homeowner to practice the chemistry involved in pool/hot tub water maintenance,” says the company’s president and CEO, Martin Coles. “This brings the ‘toss-and-go’ technology that has gained such rapid acceptance in the laundry care and kitchen environments to the pool and hot tub industry.”
The product, which was unveiled at the 2012 Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo (IPSPE), will be sold in retail stores for do-it-yourself consumers and will also be available to service professionals for integration into weekly service programs for their customers.
