
John Orchard of The Tape Measure in King City, Ont., passed away suddenly on August 11. He was 86.
Along with his wife Jackie of 43 years, John owned The Tape Measure, a swimming pool vinyl liner measuring company. He was well-known throughout the industry and held in the highest esteem by his peers.
In addition to operating his own business, John played a significant role in the success of the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) annual Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo for many years as the on-site exhibit floor space co-ordinator. He also participated regularly in PHTCC Toronto Chapter activities, including its annual golf tournament.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, and sons Jason (Carol) and Jeffery (Kelly), and five grandchildren. In his memory, donations can be made to the Mackenzie Health Foundation.
