The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) Design & Construction Awards committee has announced this year’s volunteer judges, which comprises a number of industry professionals from across the country.
The panel will be co-chaired by Shayne Nent, Watson Pools Inc. (Alberta) and Robert Wood (ex-officio), the Council’s executive director. Judges will select the winning entries based on creative and inspiring pool, hot tub, and landscape designs. This year’s panel comprises Clarence Bergen, Urban Life (Prairie chapter); Chris Corney, Aqua-Don Pool Service & Supplies (Ontario Niagara chapter); Howard Crocker, PartsWerx Distribution (Ontario central chapter); Brad Cross, Waterworks Pools & Spas (Atlantic chapter); Nancy Fujiki, Aquafun Family Pools & Spas Ltd. (B.C. island chapter); Jason Mitchell, Pool Craft (Ontario Toronto chapter); Shayne Nent, Watson Pools Inc. (Alberta chapter) (co-chair); Josh Savile, Savile Pool & Spas (Ontario western chapter); Jayme Sweeney, Zodiac Pool Systems Canada Inc. (Ontario eastern chapter); François Thériault, Decko Piscine & Jardin inc. (Québec chapter); and Matt Young, Sunshine Pools & Spas, (B.C. central chapter).
Each year, the PHTCC invites its members to enter photos and descriptions of their most impressive pool, spa/hot tub, and water feature installations in its annual Design & Construction Awards competition. The association typically receives more than 200 entries from across Canada in approximately 40 different categories. Rounding out the awards program is the PHTCC’s ‘Industry Achievement Award,’ which recognizes exceptional acts of benevolence and leadership in the pool and spa industry.
Those residential and commercial pool and spa/hot tub builders who want to enter the Design & Construction Awards competition, and/or nominate an individual for the ‘Industry Achievement Award,’ which are sponsored by Pool & Spa Marketing and Pools, Spas & Patios, must do so before 4 p.m. (EST) on Oct. 2.
All winners will be recognized during the Industry Banquet on Dec. 5, during the Canadian Pool and Spa Conference & Expo, at the Hilton Hotel and Suites in Niagara Falls, Ont. All Design & Construction Awards entries will be displayed throughout the conference centre for the duration of the show.
