Keiser University has released its 2013 online class schedule, which offers students a flexible program for working professionals who are interested in earning a college degree in aquatic engineering. Each online class in the associate of science, two-year aquatic engineering degree program is offered in one-month modules. Energy efficiency and eco-friendly technologies are included in each class module.
According to Pool & Spa Marketing columnist Connie Sue Centrella, MBA, department chair and professor, the online-degree program has a strong student following because it allows students to earn their degree while they work.
“The growth of this degree rests on the commitment of the students who go beyond traditional industry education and reach for academic excellence,” says Centrella, who has been involved with the program since its inception. “My focus has always been to build an exceptional and unique learning experience for my students.”
Students who enroll are involved in one-on-one online interaction with both their instructor and fellow students. Class work comprises weekly learning activities, reading assignments, threaded discussion topics, live chat rooms, and Webliography (electronic resource) assignments. This year, advance water chemistry has been added to the course schedule, while students will also learn more about aquatic facility management, service, and pool/spa retailing during each module.
The 2013 course schedule is as follows:
The degree program demands a total of 60 semester hours—36 credit hours of major courses and 24 credit hours of general education courses. For more information, visit www.keiseruniversity.edu[1].
