Interest in the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) educational credit program is increasing as an additional 29 member companies have qualified to receive free supplementary legal insurance in 2013.As a result of their investments in training in 2012, the following companies earned the necessary credits to qualify for this insurance and will also receive a certificate acknowledging their commitment to education over the past year:
This announcement comes after the council’s initial bulletin in February (see PSM Online[1], Feb. 14, 2013) when 19 member companies, at that time, qualified under the program.
To secure this supplementary insurance coverage, which has been made available through the PHTCC’s affinity partner RDA Inc., in co-operation with DAS Canada, class 5 and 12 PHTCC members must regularly upgrade their skills, whereby earning 200 educational credits in a given year.
In addition to attending seminars and training days, PHTCC members can also earn credits (maximum of 25) by reading Pool & Spa Marketing and completing a series of test questions related to a specific article in each issue. The latest continuing education article, “The Dirt on Expansive Soils,” can be found on page 56 of the recently released April issue. Answers should be submitted to the PHTCC office for consideration and can be e-mailed to office@poolcouncil.ca.[2] As part of the submission, participants must include their PHTCC member number along with their name, address and contact information. Each submission must clearly indicate the issue volume (found on the cover or table of contents page), date, and title of the article. Submissions that do not include this information will not be eligible.
