The Independent Pool and Spa Service Association (IPSSA) has expanded its education fund and is now subsidizing multiple classes throughout the industry to lower the overall cost of education for service professionals.
The subsidized training courses are available to all members and non-members who are self-employed pool/spa service professionals in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, and Texas.
IPSSA education fund is partnering directly with those organizations that administer training courses by providing funds to lower the cost of an individual class. Qualifying classes include, but are not limited to, Certified Pool Operators (CPO) or any education courses the association deems valuable to service professionals. These classes can be taken at industry trade shows including, but not limited to, The Florida Show, The Southwest Show, the PIE Show, and The Desert Show.
The newly expanded education fund subsidizes the cost of approved classes, but no longer requires service professionals to apply for the funds.
“By going directly to those who offer the courses, IPSSA is fulfilling its mission to provide funds to as many service professionals as possible throughout the industry,” said the association’s executive director, Rose Smoot. “The goal is to ensure the cost of a (continuing education) course doesn’t keep service professionals from taking a class.”
IPSSA was established to promote educational opportunities and provide business resources to its membership from its inception in 1988.
“IPSSA wants all self-employed service professionals seeking to advance their training and education to have less of a financial burden in doing so,” said Smooth.
