In an effort to provide a series of quality educational seminars and technical training sessions at this year’s trade show, the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) has issued a call for presentations.
The 2018 Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo is returning to the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont., from Dec. 3 to 6. According to the PHTCC, the show continues to draw more than 2000 attendees, including representatives of major manufacturers, retailers, dealers, and builders from across North America and around the world.
In co-ordination with the association’s industry trade certification program, the PHTCC looks to build off last year’s conference, which included 11 short courses covering a range of topics such as business concepts, pool installation, water chemistry, automation, and hydraulics. In addition, the National Swimming Pool Foundation’s (NSPF’s) two-day Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) course was offered, along with several Genesis technical presentations. Numerous seminars were also held, along with outdoor demonstrations and a pool school located on the show floor.
Those companies or individuals interested in educating the industry’s workforce are asked to submit a brief description of their proposed presentation by filling out a form (English[2] / French[3]) and submitting it via e-mail to Robert Wood, the PHTCC’s executive director (rwood@poolcouncil.ca[4]) by Feb. 28.
Prior to submitting the form, the PHTCC suggests interested parties consider the following:
All submissions will be evaluated by the PHTCC’s Training & Education Committee based on perceived suitability and relevance to the program, as well as the potential range of application.
