BioLab (formerly NC Brands) presented a $6000 cheque to the first place winner of its Pool Cleanup Challenge.
The challenge required pool professionals to submit some of their most compelling and creative ‘swamp-to-clear’ experiences.
Matthew Barclay, owner of Blue Moose Pools in Phoenix, Ariz., received the contest’s first place prize after clearing a green pool in just a few hours. Barclay got the cheque at the SCP Distributors LLC branch in Phoenix, Ariz., for the treatment of a green pool with Yellow Out prior to shock treatment with a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency- (EPA-) registered chlorine that kills green or yellow algae. Barclay added BioLab’s Pool First Aid to break down the dead algae, which cleared the pool water within hours.
“I picked up the contest flyer at SCP before heading to the green pool so I could document everything,” said Barclay. “I received a text from my client shortly after I left the backyard to tell me the product had cleared the pool—it’s surprising how well and fast it worked.”
In addition to the $6000 cheque presented to Barclay, SCP received a $1000 credit for supplying the product used in the winning submission.
“We received incredible transformation pictures and videos for a second year in a row—it was a true testament to the power of the recommended cleanup process,” said BioLab’s brand manager, Jamie Novak. “Matt used the products as directed. He documented his results beautifully, including an adorable shot of the homeowner’s dog, who didn’t want to put a paw into the pool until it was cleared.”
Second place winner Steve D., of Conyers, Ga., received a $2000 cheque, while the third place winner, Ann E., who purchased her products from Gregg’s Pool Works in Shingle Springs, Calif., received a $1000 cheque.
