Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc., Energy+ Inc., and Waterloo North Hydro Inc., have joined the growing group of power utilities offering the Poolsaver variable-speed pump (VSP) rebate program.

Building on the success the Poolsaver initiative saw in 2017, the Pool & Hot Tub Council (PHTCC) has announced the program is expanding its coverage within southern Ontario this year.

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc., Energy+ Inc., and Waterloo North Hydro Inc., have recently joined the growing group of power utilities offering the program, which provides pool owners a rebate when replacing their old inefficient pool pumps with a new energy-saving variable-speed pump (VSP).

The Tri-Cities utility companies join Toronto Hydro, Oakville Hydro, Burlington Hydro, Halton Hills Hydro, Milton Hydro, Hydro Ottawa, and Renfrew Hydro Inc., which allow vendors to offer eligible customers an instant $400 rebate when purchasing a VSP. Participation in the program is limited to PHTCC member companies of classes 5 and 12 (retailers, builders, and service companies).

According to the PHTCC, the program has become more streamlined for 2018, making it easier for vendors to complete the required documentation. PHTCC members interested in participating in the program must register online. Once approved, members will gain access to the secure site and be able to apply for application rebates.
