The Deep Dive Dubai pool, located in Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood, has broken the Guinness World Record for the world’s deepest swimming pool.

The depth of the pool is 60 m (196.9 ft), 15 m (49.2 ft) deeper and four times bigger than the next largest pool in the world. With a 14 million L (3 million gal) water capacity, it can hold an equivalent amount of water as six Olympic-sized pools.

Located in the middle of the desert, the facility is designed to imitate a huge subterranean city. It has 56 cameras to assure visitor safety in addition to cutting-edge lighting and sound systems.

According to CNBC, a visitor who thoroughly enjoyed the experience of diving at the pool said the only thing lacking was the presence of marine life.

Dubai also boasts another Guinness World Record breaker, highest-in-the-world outdoor infinity pool, sitting 294 m (964.6 ft) atop on the 77th floor of the luxurious five-star Address Beach Resort in Jumeirah Beach Residence. Resembling an expansive lake floating in the sky, it offers panoramic views of the coveted city landmarks such as Bluewaters Island, Palm Jumeirah, and the sail shaped Burj Al Arab.
