Haviland Enterprises, Inc. has revealed plans for a $7 million flagship laboratory in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Haviland has partnered with Erhardt Construction and Progressive AE to develop a 1,022-m2 (11,000-sf) facility. This new space will enhance the company’s ability to progress in product development and test new formulations in its principal markets. With an eye on expansion, the company is actively seeking opportunities in the water treatment market amid growing national water conservation initiatives.

Set to be fully operational in 2025, the facility is part of Haviland’s ongoing efforts to offer chemical solutions across various industries, supported by its six production and warehousing locations across the country.

“Our new lab is not only an investment in Haviland’s technical capabilities, but it also offers new value to our customers, opening the door for further innovation in our target markets of water treatment, surface finishing, and contract manufacturing,” says the company’s vice-president, Rob Pawson.
