The Happyland Pool in Saint Boniface, Winnipeg, may not remain in operation this summer, despite attempts at raising funds to save the pool.

Per a report by Global News[2], the pool is set to close after the city’s Standing Policy Committee for Community Services voted not to pass along a motion to the executive council. They recommended the city accept a gift of $85,000.

The money to save the pool was raised in less than two months, after the multi-year budget called for closing the pool alongside two others. The Friends of Happyland Pool received donations and pledges from individuals and diverse groups.
