The Cor Van Raay Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) has opened at ATB Centre in Lethbridge, Alta., and features a large aquatic facility.
The recreational centre includes two waterslides, a surf simulator, climbing wall, lane pool, lazy river, tots spray area, whirlpool, and zero-depth entry gentle wave pool. The facility was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects with public consultation for the choice of features.
“The design intent was to create a community destination, that is welcoming to all, with a wealth of amenity,” said Diamond Schmitt’s principal, Jarle Lovlin.
