
A proposed merger between Sima Group Inc. and The International Pool Group (IPG), first announced in April 2019, will not move forward.
“Sima Group Inc. will continue to grow its members across Canada by offering members competitive purchasing programs, exclusive product supported by its distribution centre, and exclusive brands such as Distinction and Inspiration,” he said. “Sima Group Inc. offers a logistic and warehousing service for merchants, a banner that increases its notoriety with digital and traditional marketing services tailored to the needs of members.”
Ricard added the company would count on its “efficient management and a sound financial situation” to allow it to “seize business opportunities” arising in the future.
Further, he said the company will continue to grow and offer an opportunity to several retailers to join them.
The IPG recently announced it acquired four new members in the Quebec market—Piscines Gratton, Piscines Rive Nord, Piscines Soucy (two locations), and Les Entreprises SLK. The integration of the new members will take place effective September 1 in time for the 2021 buying cycle.
IPG offers its’ members a complete catalogue of exclusive products, private labels, and national brands, customizable digital marketing programs, technical training, business support, and the freedom to choose between marketing their business as a member of The IPG Network, or to market their business under the national brand LeisureScapes.
