Since June 7, My Coast Now[2], has reported B.C.’s Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) has implemented stage two water conservation regulations.
Shane Walkey, manager of utility services with the SCRD, said the warm weather and low precipitation in May resulted in snow depth levels similar to late June 2018.
“Lawn watering is not permitted for anyone that lives in the regional area south of Secret Cove, Halfmoon Bay, District of Sechelt, Sechelt Indian Government District, Roberts Creek, and those surrounding the Town of Gibsons (including Zone Three),” Walkley said in the report.
Stage two entails the following:
SCRD staff monitor neighbourhoods on a regular basis to enforce regulations, deliver informational materials, and investigate complaints.
Residents of the Pender Harbour Water Systems and Town of Gibsons (Zone One or Two) will remain at stage one.
