L’Amoreaux Kidstown Water Park in Scarborough, Ont., the only water park operated by the City of Toronto, will close for the 2024 season for redesign and replacement.

Aiming for completion by the 2025 season, the project aims to create a safer, accessible, and improved experience for preschool and grades school children.

The new design will feature a leisure pool surrounded by multiple elements such as a spiral water slide, wading pool with beach entry, alongside a permit area and shade structure. A separate cognitive play area, encouraging “thought-based play,” will include canals and weirs, water tables, and pumps.

A key feature of the new design is a waterfall and hill area, which is an Indigenous Placekeeping element developed in collaboration with the Huron-Wendat First Nation.

The project will also integrate a junior splash pad with gentle water features, as well as a senior splash pad area. The pavilion, located to the right of the senior splash pad, will house the washrooms, change rooms, and lockers.
