Water Tech Corp., a manufacturer of battery-powered pool and hot tub vacuums, recently announced a company-wide ‘fitness challenge.’ The goal is for everyone to be ready for summer fashion, including swimsuits.
The company witnessed more than 99 per cent participation in the program. Each employee created an individual goal to lose a certain number of pounds or body fat.
“We combined our personal goals to set an overall company target to be accomplished by Memorial Day (May 27) weekend, to gear up for the swim season,” said the company’s human resources manager and organizer of the fitness challenge, Marissa Gill.
The program started in January and employees have already achieved more than 70 per cent of the overall goal.
“People are running at lunch, taking more walking breaks throughout the day, and even using our products as weights to increase their muscle mass,” said Water Tech’s president Guy Erlich. “It is encouraging as well as hilarious to see people curl our Pool Blaster at their desks while speaking to customers on the phone.”
“Water Tech is going to kick off the summer season with a big pool party to celebrate the company’s fitness achievements,” he added. “Our success so far makes me confident this team will be ready for swimming and exercise in no time as we are sure to achieve our goals.”
