Hayes

Pat Hayes has joined Aqua-Tech Sales and Marketing Inc., and Somers Environmental Products Inc., as a sales representative. He will work out of the company’s London, Ont., offices under the direction of Daryl Somers. Hayes will also team with Aqua-Tech Sales Group in the Kitchener/southern Ontario territory as a commercial boiler specialist to service and support the company’s boiler product offerings. He has 30 years of experience in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and hydronics industry, including almost nine years driving the commercial/industrial business growth of another boiler manufacturer.

Wasterlain

Aquionics has appointed Sherrie Wasterlain as its new service manager for industrial and aquatics applications. With more than 13 years’ experience in the water treatment industry, she is a welcome addition to the company’s expanding team. Based at Aquionics’ new facilities in North Carolina, Wasterlain will focus on UV application technology.

Todd Shannon has joined Bullfrog Spas as its new vice-president of business development. The hot tub industry veteran and will oversee the company’s sales innovations and strategic business development. Shannon is responsible for advancing customer attraction and retention efforts while directing the international sales efforts outside of North America. Bullfrog Spas has also promoted Dan Sjoblom to vice-president of marketing. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry and holds a deep interest in the retail sales process. Sjoblom will work with Bullfrog Spas dealers to improve their local marketing while growing their sales by focusing on brand building, digital marketing, and retail merchandising.

Weisong

Evosus™ Business Management Software has hired David Weisong to the position of vice-president of software development. He has helped the company launch its EMV credit card processing, analytics program, and in the development of future mobile and web-based applications.

NC Brands has hired Rick Rupert as regional manager for the mid-Atlantic region. He joins the company with many years’ experience in the pool industry’s retail and distribution sectors. He is responsible for sales in Philadelphia/eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Northern Virginia. Jimmy McLean has also joined the company as a regional manager to cover territories in Houston and southeast Texas. He also has a background in retail and distribution. Charlie Tuttle has returned to NC Brands after previously leaving the northeast region. He is responsible for the northern California region.

(L-R) Puetz, Van Bower, and Phillips

The National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®) made three changes to its board of directors earlier this year. Longtime board member, John Puetz, retired and two Genesis leaders joined to ensure the board has strategic leaders in areas aligned with its growing portfolio of programs. First elected to the board in 2007, Puetz has since retired after reaching his term limit. During his NSPF tenure, he served as chairman from 2011-2013 and was a member of NSPF’s Grant Review Committee. Puetz retired from his industry role as the director of technology and co-ordinator of global technology-water for Lonza in 2016 after a 42-year career in pool and hot tub industry. Brian Van Bower, Society of Watershape Designers™ (SWD) master, and Skip Phillips, SWD master, joined the NSPF board at the start of the year. Van Bower and Phillips were principals with Genesis since 1998, merged the company with NSPF in January of 2016, and took on the role of Genesis ambassadors. Van Bower, CEO of Aquatic Consultants, and Phillips, president of Questar Pools and Spas, have a long history of leadership in design, construction, and education. The two firms and the students of Genesis have designed many award-winning pools and spas.

Sarrocco

Damon Sarrocco has joined the RB Retail & Service Solutions team as an account manager to help the company meet the needs of its growing workforce and expanding customer base. He works with potential customers to identify ways the company’s products and services can benefit their businesses. Sarrocco has 15 years’ experience in outside sales and accounting management.
