Pentair earns 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy will present Pentair with a 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence award in Washington, D.C., this month.

Pentair has been named a 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence award winner for continued leadership in protecting the environment through its energy efficiency achievements.

On April 26, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy will recognize the company in Washington, D.C., for manufacturing energy efficient pool pumps that earn the Energy Star designation. Pumps must be at least 30 to 72 per cent more efficient than standard pumps to earn this classification.

“Our energy-efficient pool pumps have helped conserve 10.7 billion kilowatt hours of energy and have prevented the release of 6.9 million tons of carbon dioxide,” says Karl R. Frykman, Pentair’s senior vice-president and president of its water segment. “In addition to continuing to develop energy-efficient pool and spa equipment, we have worked to educate consumers about energy-saving opportunities. This combination has helped our customers enjoy their pools while saving money.

“We are proud to earn our fourth consecutive Partner of the Year Award, and the Sustained Excellence designation, and will continue to innovate and educate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We value our partnership with Energy Star and look forward to continuing this journey together.”

A diverse range of companies which design and manufacture high-efficiency products are being recognized with the 2017 Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations, each offering energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
