PHTCC announces course lineup for Canadian Pool & Spa show

Building off last year’s successful educational conference, the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) has released preliminary details on this year’s Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo seminar and training programs.

Once again, in co-ordination with the association’s industry trade certification program, the PHTCC is making available to attendees more than a dozen courses covering a variety of ‘short courses’ on topics such as pool installation, spa pak and pump troubleshooting, hydraulics, pool inspections, water chemistry, automation, business concepts, and tips and tricks of the trade.

The National Swimming Pool Foundation’s (NSPF’s) two-day Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) program, which has become a staple of the conference, will also be available. This year also marks the return of the Genesis educational program. Select courses on reinforced concrete pools covering structural engineering and certified shotcrete nozzleman training will take place, along with Genesis presentations on state-of-the-art spa details, water and wellness, pool shell cracking, and vinyl pool construction. Currently, nine additional seminars will also be presented to support the advancement of the industry.

Conference programs are sold in package formats. The member cost for the PHTCC’s short courses and seminars is $150 and $350 for non-members. Admission to the NSPF’s two-day CPO program, which has a limit of 50 students, is $560 for members and $650 for non-members. The Genesis construction reinforced concrete pools course is $1200 for members and non-members, while the seminars and Genesis presentations package is $125 for members and $325 for non-members. All prices include HST. These early bird rates are available to attendees who register online[2] by Nov. 6.

This year marks the 37^th edition of the show, which once again returns to the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ont., from Dec. 4 to 7.
