Pioneer Family Pools was the recipient of Hot Spring Spas’ 2013 Locksin Thompson ‘Dealer of the Year Award,’ an annual honour which recognizes a retailer’s commitment to quality, excellence, and professionalism.

Pioneer, which has 18 locations throughout Ontario and has been in the pool industry for more than 45 years and the hot tub industry for more than 30 years, was selected from among 700 international retailers in recognition of the company’s progressive marketing, customer service, and retail excellence.

The award was presented to Pioneer’s owner Harry Martyniuk at Hot Spring Spas’ Convergence 2014 international dealer event held in San Diego, Calif.

“You might expect this multi‐store retailer to be successful because of their business excellence, but what you might not expect is the openness that our winner has to new ideas and ways of doing business,” said Hot Spring Spas’ executive vice-president, Mike Dunn. “This entrepreneurial spirit keeps them growing, discovering fresh retail opportunities, and connecting with new customers year after year.”

  1. I bought a hot tub from Pioneer, spring of 2019. I did my research and chose Pioneer after reading all the positive reviews. I bought a Hot Spring Spa but neither Pioneer nor Watkins have come through with their value statements. Since the day of installation, my spa has not been functioning as it should. It has baffled all the serviceman, from the contractors to those sent from “Head Office.” We’ve had service come over half a dozen times. The unit has been faulty since the day of installation it has not worked. It should be replaced, but no one is taking ownership of this task. Pioneer keep sending servicemen over for temporary fixes. It’s been a very frustrating experience. Can someone please help me?
