The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) has released the revised Canadian Electrical Code Handbook (CE code) to begin the second of a three-stage review process after receiving recommendations from various industries, including the pool and spa sector.
According to Robert Wood, the Pool & Hot Council of Canada’s (PHTCC’s) executive director, based on the input provided by the PHTCC during the first stage of the review, a number of amendments have been made to Chapter 68 of the handbook, including clarification of the bonding requirements for swimming pools.
The CE code is a standard published by the CSA pertaining to the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in Canada. As part of the next review stage, the PHTCC is asking members to submit any comments or questions on the document via e-mail to rwood@poolcouncil.ca by Wed., June 8, 2011. Once all comments have been received, a consolidated reply will be submitted to the CSA on behalf of the PHTCC.
