This 6.1- x 14.6-m (20- x 48-ft) rectangular vinyl pool is nestled on the grounds of a multi-acre gated property in Woodbridge, Ont., and takes centre stage in the landscaped yard. The pool, built by Aquaspa Pools and Landscape Design, also of Woodbridge, has a central 1.3-m (4.5-ft) deep end and spans one-third the length of the 45.7-m (150-ft) long, 929-m2 (10,000-sf) home.
The pool’s long linear design allows it to be accessed from multiple walkouts of the residence and lends itself more to a sports-themed entertainment centre. Not only can the pool accommodate a large number of bathers during family get-togethers, but also allows them to be active, whether they are swimming laps or getting in a game of water volleyball or basketball.
Several other features, including laminar deck jets around the pool perimeter, acrylic-coated fibreglass steps with integral spa jets, and light-emitting diode (LED) colour changing lights, were also incorporated into the project to help transform the recreational functionality of the pool and surrounding landscape into a luxurious getaway.
The design for this project was completed by Aquaspa Pools and Landscape Design, while its sister company, Royal Stone Landscaping & Design, completed the landscape work, including the pool deck and patio, gardens and planting, cabana, and irrigation system.
