Ultraviolet (UV) light secondary disinfection systems offer an alternative to many of the chemicals normally used to ensure clean, clear, pool water. UV also provides instant protection against chlorine-resistant micro-organisms such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and other harmful waterborne pathogens. Standard sizes are available up to 8838 litres per minute (lpm) (2,335 gallons per minute [gpm]) and NSF/ANSI 50 Equipment for Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs and Other Recreational Water Facilities up to 1.03 kPa (150 psi).
