Tucked nicely into the foliageĀ comprising a number of tall trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses, this pool and spa installation in Oakville, Ont., mimics a natural-looking environment. A harmonious blend of natural materials and native plantings lend an organic, free-flowing charm to the backyard, which complements the overall look of the property.
Designed with entertainment and socialization in mind, this Solda Pools Ltd., project features sun and shade seating, a spill-over spa, and an outdoor entertainment area. The 7- x 12-mĀ (22- x 40-ft) curvilinear, gunite concrete pool has a 2.4 m (8 ft) depth, and is decorated with glass tiles and Pebble Tec plaster finishes. The elevated 2.1-m (7-ft) wide overflow spa attached to the pool is built with the same material to create a cohesive space.
A meandering waterfall cascades down a large, poolside rockscape creating the soothing sound of moving water.
The Eramosa flagstone deck coping surrounding the pool pairs well with the natural setting. At pool level, the expansive deck provides ample room for sunbathing and poolside lounging, while a 3- x 10-m (10- x 32-ft) sheltered cabana equipped with a bar, dining space, comfortable seating, and outdoor entertainment amenities is situated nearby.
Outdoor lighting was also strategically installed in various hardscape and softscape areas to accentuate the numerous features of this backyard oasis at night.
Solda Pools Ltd., installed all pool components of this project, along with the decking, tiling, and landscaping. A separate contractor was hired to build the cabana.
