Pool & Spa Marketing‘s third annual salary survey results show the number of industry professionals earning more than $60,000 a year has increased by six per cent—from 46 per cent in 2010 to 52 per cent in 2011.
Alas, those additional dollars did not come without investing more time and hard work. For instance, in 2010, 12 per cent of respondents said they worked more than 60 hours a week; in 2011, that shot up to 26 per cent. (Interestingly, while many industry professionals worked longer hours and managed to bring home more money, the annual revenue of the business dropped. In 2010, 42 per cent reported annual revenues of $1 to $3 million. Last year, this percentage dipped to just 29 per cent.)
The survey ran online from Nov. 23 to Dec. 23, 2011 and covered subjects such as company size, location, annual sales, payroll, company benefits and affiliations with industry associations.
