Randy Tumber, president and founder of Tumber & Associates, accepts the Caterpillar Award of Excellence for landscape construction from the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association (CNLA).

Tumber and Associates, a landscape design/build firm in Orangeville, Ont., earned this year’s award for ‘Canada’s top landscape’ in the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association’s (CNLA’s) National Awards of Landscape Excellence.

Tumber’s ‘Home is where the heart is’ project was selected from a number of landscapes that were entered into the 2011 Caterpillar Award of Excellence for landscape construction category. The project, featured in the December 2008[2] issue of Pool & Spa Marketing, developed a natural, northern-cottage environment into an urban setting, complete with amenities such as a hot tub, pool and underground grotto along with a wood-fired pizza oven intertwined with several elaborate remote-controlled waterfalls.

Tumber & Associates ‘Home is where the heart is’ project transformed an urban setting into a natural, northern-cottage environment, complete with amenities such as a hot tub, pool and underground grotto.

The award represents a significant achievement for the company, as only one construction project is selected each year, said the company’s president and founder, Randy Tumber, APLD, CLD, CHT.

“We are humbled and honoured to be in the presence of so many talented industry builders,” Tumber said. “We find it hard to believe that our work is favourably compared with so many other amazing projects.”
